You hear the radio announcement "You can plan your dream wedding in one day!" However you're hesitant and start asking yourself, "Can I really meet the vendors I want to work with at this bridal show?" and "Is attending worth the overwhelming number of vendors wanting to get my information?" As a vendor attending yesterday's Houston Wedding Showcase, I realized for the first time how rewarding a bridal show can be to a newly engaged bride.
Even though I am no stranger to the bridal show world, I was a stranger in owning a company at a bridal show. Yes, during previous shows I've met some enticing and interesting vendors, but yesterday was different. It was all about collaboration to better the wedding experience for the bride. Below are a few things I learned yesterday at the Houston Wedding Showcase.
1. It's all about the bride. You're probably thinking "DUH" right now, and even though this is our philosophy at Birch Tree Events, it seems to have been everyone's philosophy. I had the wonderful pleasure of speaking to a bride, her sister and her mother at the bridal show yesterday. I asked the bride what she envisioned on her wedding day and her response was, "I don't want to work. I want to relax and not be stressed." Without responding to her, I tuned to the bride's sister and asked her the same question. She said, " I want to attend to my sister, and make sure her dream wedding is coming to life." Again, I asked the same question, but to the mother this time, and she said " I want to be by my daughters' side throughout the entire day to make sure she is being taken care of." I proceeded to ask, "While you're taking care of your daughter and sister, who is going to be taking care of the event? Who is going to make sure all the wedding details you've planned are being implemented?"
At Birch Tree Events, I promise that my bride will be able to relax and enjoy her special day with her family and friends. We will take care of all the details that you've worked so hard planning.
2. Vendors don't just want your contact information. Even though it may seem like that's all we want, we actually want to get to know you. We want to get a glimpse of your personality to see if we are a compatible company for your dream wedding. Do we have the same wedding style? Will our wedding planning strategies enhance your dream wedding? We know that bridal shows are fast paced, and we cannot get all the answers during the bridal shows. This is why many of us ask for your contact information. I would love to have coffee with every bride I met yesterday at the Houston Wedding Showcase so we can talk one on one about your wedding. Like I mentioned earlier, planning a wedding is hard, but Birch Tree Events can help alleviate the stress.
- 3. There are some AMAZING vendors at bridal shows. I must admit, I am so excited about the vendors I met yesterday at the Houston Wedding Showcase. Nathan and Nolan at Menguin were some of the most vibrant gentlemen at the show. They have such an awesome and unique platform for suit and tuxedo rental, and their digital approach is innovative and easy. Joey, with Joey T Photography took the time out of his day to express his passion for capturing weddings. His growing company has proven to be one of the best wedding photographers Houston has to offer. The men at Sage Films, a new videography company, were driven and anxious to help their bride's capture lasting memories that they can relive over and over again. Ventura's Bridal, who is no stranger to the Houston weddings, offered saving to Birch Tree Events bride's. And then there were the beautiful Houston venues like Las Velas, The Carriage House, Ashlynn Manor, Noah's and Pine Lake Ranch, each eager to offer bride's the services that will only compliment their dream wedding.
Yes, bridal shows can be overwhelming, and yes, you do have to give your contact information to many different companies, but each company wants to offer you services that will allow you to relax and enjoy your wedding day. I encourage every bride to attend at least one bridal show in the Houston area with their maid of honor, mother and future mother-in-law. I guarantee you will learn something new about planning your Houston wedding.
